The Great Debate
The controversy surrounding the gTLD initiative has generated an enormous amount of text in various repositories. The museum case was initially articulated primarily in three contexts:
A conclusive round of discussion was triggered by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers - "ICANN Yokohama Meeting Topic: Introduction of New Top-Level Domains" At the top of that page, there is a link to "Public Comments", and near its top a further link to a Search facility. A query addressed to it for "museum" will return the relevant contribution to the discussion. Be sure to set the form for a search of the entire text base and not just the subject headers.
